Clan netjak.com was founded in January 2004 by Twelve and Search66 on the principles of Brotherhood, Integrity, Competitiveness, and Skill. Since then, netjak has become a force on all five TAO servers, with players in the top ranks of each, and a strong presence on all TAO Forums. Netjak is the clan that all others are measured by. Twelve no longer has time to organise the netjak 12 because of his job. We had a vote in the leader's section of the netcave first and then the general area about who should take his place, and everyone felt I was the best option. So from now on, I'll be organsing the netjak 12 until Twelve gets back full-time.
I may not be the great orator that Twelve was, but hopefully I can perform the tasks needed to get the job done well.
I shall be contacting the leaders of the clans who have recently issued challenges to us to see if they're serious about it and, if so, to discuss terms. I will be reading this thread on a regular basis but I probably won't be able to see everything that happens here, thanks to my duties on Legends. So please, if you want to challenge the 12, either:

The previous team that took on AL:

Following the war, many changes took place in the 12. First Spliff left the team by sort of... disappearing. So we had a challenge week that wasn't very successful; only a few games were played, but notably Geeky beat Bullcat0, meaning that bullcat would have to challenge again to get his place back. It was very complicated and nobody really knew what would happen, but in the end, Cliche, Strife and MicSpor all dropped out for various reasons. They were replaced by ExpectDeath, who had been on the 12 before and bullcat, who rightfully reclaimed his spot thanks to his performance against AL.
We then had 2 free spots, and CRX, Lord Shinok and Priest had a three-way challenge. Unfortunately, when the dust settled, only Shinok said he had the available free time to be sure of being active enough to represent the 12 truly.
We were left with an Incomplete 11 of:

Their challengers were:

Each challenger had to play each member of the 11 once, and the best record of the challengers would gain the final place. The fighting was fierce once again, and Justice and Applesauce pulled out for reasons of their own. The two outstanding challengers were Worker, who managed a decent 4 wins and a draw, and elimination, who scored 3 wins. No-one else managed more than a single win against our conquering 11. It seemed that the spot would go to Worker.
But then we learned that the founder of the 12, Twelve himself, no longer had the time to compete thanks to his job.
We all mourned greatly, for Twelve had not only been the founding member of the clan and the 12, but he had also been a stalwart in EVERY SINGLE TEAM since the idea was conceived; a feat matched only by myself. We will all miss his great play, his wonderful stories of battles fought in the name of the 12, but most of all, his wise leadership.

| What is a clan? |

A clan is a group of players who, for reasons of fun, skill, or just about anything else, decide to be identified as a group. | | How do I become a member of a clan? | To become a member of a clan, you must be invited by the leader. To accept membership in a clan you use the /join command. You cannot be a member of another clan, else the leader will be unable to invite you. Some clans will invite you without you even asking. Others will require that you meet rating criteria, and/or play a tryout game against them. | | What benefits do I get if I join a clan? | In-game, you have access to a private chat channel that only members of your clan can see. Talk in this channel is printed in blue. If you wish to talk in the clan channel, you can type /c at the beginning of your sentence, or you can use control+enter instead of just enter. When you use the /stat command, the name of your clan will be shown next to your name and rating. In addition, any games you play against other people in your clan will be unrated. These are the only in-game clan benefits, but many clans have websites, forums, and other perks that come with membership. | | Where can I get information about clans? | Many clans have a website or forum, and most of these websites are listed at this link: http://tacticsarena.com/clanwebsites/ . Of course, the best way to learn about a clan is to talk to its members, either in the lobby, through personal messages on the TAO forums (located here: http://tacticsarena.com/forum/ ) or through instant messengers. | | How can I start my own clan? | First of all, you must have paid for a gold account. Then you can use the /clan command to make a new clan. But be careful! You can only do this once per account! Once you have made a new clan you are stuck with it (no fixing spelling errors), unless you give leadership to another member. Then you can flee the bad name you made, but still you will have used up your only chance to make a clan on your account.
| | How can I become the leader of a clan? | The current leader must give you leadership, using the /leader command. You can be made the leader even when you don’t want it!
| | What are all the clan in-game commands? | This command can be used by anyone not in a clan:
/join - accepts the invitation to join a clan most recently sent to you
This command can be used by any gold member not in a clan (ONCE!)
/clan - creates a new clan, and makes you the leader.
These commands can be used by any clan member:
/c - send a clan chat message. Can also be done using control+enter.
/leave - leaves your current clan. You can't use this if you are the leader.
Thses commands can be used by the clan leader only:
/expel - kicks a member out of the clan.
/invite - invites a member to a clan
/leader - gives leadership to another member of the clan. This means you aren't the leader anymore!
| | Are there any rankings for clans? | | Yes. In September of 2004, Thargor of clan netjak.com began making rankings for the TAO community. The current incarnation of these rankings are found here: http://netjak-tao.com/portal/ . More recently several other players began keeping rankings. References to Thargor's and others' rankings sites can be found on the TAO foums. |

How do I join Netjak?
1. You must be tested by a senior Netjak member, for skill and attitude.
2. You must agree to abide by the Netjak rules.
3. You must find the Netjak server leader for whichever server you wish to join. You must meet the requirements on your home server (Armageddon, Banff, Great Lakes, or Legends) before getting to join on Revelation.
What rating do i need?
The required rating depends on server and also on whether you are gold or grey.
Grey Account on Armageddon, Banff, or Great Lakes: 1100
Gold Account on Armageddon, Banff, or Great Lakes: 1300
Grey Account on Legends: 1300
Gold Account on Legends: 1400
Who are the Netjak server leaders?
Armageddon: bullcat0, Worker
Banff: ExpectDeath, Geeky_Bastard
Great Lakes: Big Zeus, Magician
Legends: |airforceone|, Bottle, Hatchet Warrior, El Cid, Satori
Twelve is the overall clan leader, and founder. However due to the pressures of RL he is only available occasionally. In Twelve's absense, Thargor serves as advisor to the Netjak Leaders, cause he's old and knows stuff. Bottle leads the Netjak 12, and organizes any wars to be fought.
What are the Netjak rules?
We have a few rules concerning how your account is used.
Shared Accounts: Sharing your account with people outside of Netjak is not encouraged. When you dont know who you are talking to, what do you say to them? Sharing someone elses account from outside Netjak is also frowned upon. Netjak recommends you share your password with NO ONE. Be yourself! Netjak SMART.
Grey Jumping: Netjak golds should NEVER jump onto a grey player waiting for a game. Not only is it unfair, it drives new players away from the game. If you are gold and wish to wait on a square for a game, do so on floor 4 or higher. Netjak HONOR.(Note: Grey jumping in Legends is still under discussion due to rare drops)
Netjak or Nothing (NoN): The oldest rule in Netjak. But NO LONGER the rule. Of course, we want you to be all netjak, and if you want to be a netjak leader, you MUST be. But if its not your style, or you have friend in other clans you want to stay in, were happy to have you join however you want. Netjak STRONG.
Can I be a Netjak leader?
New Netjak leaders are chosen on an as-needed basis from among the ranks of the NoN. If you want to be a leader, then conduct yourself in the best netjak fashion, and perhaos when we are in need, your shoulder will be tapped. |
